The MARTIN family (Pedro's father was Don Juan Martin) came from Domingo Garcia (top left of this map). According to Mariano's birth certificate the DE BARTOLOME (his mother's family), the ARRANZ family (his wife's family - her father was Don Vicente Arranz), and the SANTOS (his wife's mother's family) were all born in Bernardos which is a village about twice the size of Domingo Garcia about 4 km east of Domingo Garcia (see map). Both villages are about 40 km north west of Segovia, and incidentally close to Railway (blue line) that operated from 1884-1993.

The birth certificate also says that Pedro Martin de Bartolome and Josefa Arranz married in the province of Armuna. Armuna is about 8km south east of Domingo Garcia and Bernardos (see map).
